MS Gripsholm (1925)
The Baltic Cruise of 1938 (23 July to 26 August) was to be the last before the second world war.
Both postcards show_the same view of the Gripsholm with the
Kungsholm in the foreground.
Posted on board on 2 August 1938 during the Viking Lands and
Russia Cruise from New York. The greeting on the card is "En
route to Scandinavia and Russia. The Prince and Princess of
Sweden are on board and are charming". Crown Princess Louise

and stepson Crown Prince Bertil visited Wilmington for the 300 h
anniversary of Swedish settlement in America. They arrived on the
Kungsholm, stayed for 26 days and returned from New York on the Gripsholm on 23 July 1938.
