above and POSTAGE & REVENUE below. Value at top and bottom in Englis~ on the left in Malay and
on the right in Chinese. Chießy intended for fiscal use as li~e postal requirement for high value stamps.
Die Proofs: Two recorded for the One Dollar value only, both from an early state of the die, the centre
tablet at top and bottom read 'DOLLAR' later amended to 'ONE DOLLAR' (Handbook p. 39)
