Up to November 1886 mait to mo:st fnreign deminarions reqoi~.d stamps (which were available
at the North Bomeo post offices) of the port of transit, Hong Kong, Labuan, or Singapore
(Straits Settlements) as weil as North Bomeo stamps. Only a handful of the resulting
combination covers bave surviv~ the most notable of these are the 'Locke Correspondence'

The 2c ofNorth Bomeo (probably ftom Transfer A) cancelled with the bottom half of the very scarce Sandakan
double circle (Proud D2), the Straits Settlements IOc on 6c provisional (issued 1881)
