           Other alternatives were directed towards the introduction of letter cards with attached reply. Essays for these were
           proposed by France and Russia


           THE FRENCH REPLY LETTER CARD ESSAY
           The design of the French proposal was
           based on the layout and experience gained
           with domestic letter cards with attached
           reply, first issued in France 1894.
