The Swiss delegation presented two different proposals, each supported by a number of essays with slight
differences.

THE SWISS «BILLET LETTRE» ESSAY
The «ticket reply letter» was a design by Krieg, Pascal & Cie. from Lausanne, Switzerland. The idea was to use a
stamp or incipium at «double value» («valor double») that would be cancelled by the originating country and
remained on the reply part, where it would be cancelled a second time.
