SS Kungsholm (1923)
In March1923, the SAL commissioned a new liner for
delivery in 1925. In the interim, the company chartered
the Noordam from the Holland America Line from 27
February 1923 to 18 December 1924, and renamed it as
the Kungsholm.
Postcard (shown right reduced) written on the
Kungsholm and cancelled on 3 October 1923 at Times
Plaza Sta[tion], Brooklyn. The greeting on the postcard
states that the Kungsholm was expected to arrive in
OUBBE:LPROPELLER1NGAREN ''KU NGSHOLM"
New York on that day.
A further official postcard of the Kungsholm shows the accommodation provided for passengers.
