Gripsholm (1925)
After its refit, the Gripsholm resumed service in 1950 but its cruising days had passed.
The onboard post office closed in February 1952. This envelope, dated 26 January 1952 was carried on
the last crossing to the USA with the sea post office on board. The post office closed on the return of the
Gripsholm to Sweden.

The SAL produced several postcards of both the exterior and the interior of the Gripsholm. This example
dates from the late 1940s and shows the elegance of the accommodation.
