Margot Asquith, wife of the Prime Minister, R.H. Asquith
I
In late 1909 Margot writes a letter in her usual style. In search of a footman, she writes "Looks don't matter at all. Wits
do", and "must be able to turn his hand to any thing from taking a message to a King to mending my little boys kite".
In retirement in later years, Herbert and Margot Asquith took the titles of Earl and Countess of Oxford & Asquith.
