  =                 Photograph probably taken around the time of his first election to Parliament as an MP, which was for Leicester
                      in 1906.  In the 1922 election, Labour became the main opposition party to the Conservative government of
                     Stanley Baldwin, making Ramsay MacDonald the Leader of the Opposition.  In January 1924, he became the
                               first Labour Prime Minister, and also took the post of Foreign Secretary concurrently.
