Sir Leslie Scott, KC, PC (1869~1950)
Congratulatory postcard from Madrid on 3 April 1922 after Leslie Scott, MP for Liverpool Exchange from 1910,
had been elected as Solicitor General in the Lloyd George-led coalition. government. With the fall of the coalition
six months later, the appointment ceased - he had hoped to be appointed Attorney General, but never reached
that office. Scott retired from legal practice in 1948 and died in Oxford in 1950. The sender of the congratulations
has not yet been identified.
