Spurious maritime mail.
Not all covers that appear to be maritime mail are in fact genuine.
These two Finnish postal stationery items that appear to have been posted at sea and
landed at the Swedish ports of Sundsvall in 1971 (top) and Umea in 1963 (bottom) are
not genuine. The two line 'Paquebot I Batpost' cachet is not known to have been used
at Sundsvall and the single line cachet 'Med bat fran Finland' is not know to have
been used at Umea. In addition both items of postal stationery were invalid for
postage from 1.1.1931.
