Every year a boat race is held between Eckero in the Aland Islands and Grisslehamn
in Sweden to commemorate the Southern Post Route and the old sea route between
Finland and Sweden. Boats taking part in the race carry mail which is postmarked
with a commemorative cancellation. Covers carried in the 1980 and 1987 races.
