MS Kungsholm (1953)

On 18 October 1952, the SAL announced the launching of the Kungsholm, the third liner with that name
in the SAL fleet. This was to join the Stockholm and the Gripsholm.

A specially printed publicity postcard announced the event, with the Vlissingen, Netherlands date-stamp.

The message reads: "Just attended a thrilling ceremony at de Scheide Shipyard here - the launching of
our new motor liner Kungsholm. We expect her to be in service toward the end of 1953. She's really quite
a ship - you'll like her.
