            Two types of sideways duplex were issued to this office the first was a Type II. This the second and was issued on
                    24th November 1857. It is recorded used between the 3rd December 1857 and 3rd February 1859.
































                 Above you will see an example of this hand stamp on a stampless envelope with a hand stamp number
                      10 this being the postage due in Canada which would have been collected from the recipient.
                                 It is dated the 23rd December 1858 and it is showing the code letter B.
                                                         2NDRECUT

                 This was recut from the 1st recut then issued on the 2nd November 1861. It is recorded used between the
                            15th April 1862 and 6th February 1867. It has a scarcity rating of C not common.

                  Above you can see an example of this hand stamp on a 1 d red paying the inland postage to Mayfield.
                                  It is dated the 1st October 1862 and it is showing the code letter B.
