This is another of the 4 four towns to receive this Type Ia sideways duplex and is the scarcest of them all.

As with the other Type Ia hand stamps it was issued on 30th May 1854.

The above two covers show examples of this hand stamp. The first is dated 22nd August 1857 cancelling a 1 d red
with the code A. The second is dated 6th June 1856 and is seen on a ld postal stationery envelope showing the
code B these are the only two codes so far recorded used with this hand stamp. It has the rarity factor E.
