BILATERAL ARRANGEMENTS WITH NON MEMBER COUNTRIES
Even if a country was not UPU member, the mutual acceptance of reply cards was still possible. A good example
is the relationship between Italy – a founding member of the UPU – and the Republic of San Marino, which did
not join until 1915. Still Italy and San Marino accepted their respective stamps for prepaid reply card services
bymutual agreement.
Two San Marino reply cards used back from Italy in 1894 and 1912 respectively.
Interestingly, both cards used the same design and do not show any denomination but are 10 Cent cards.
