5.1 ERRORS, MISUNDERSTANDINGS AND MISUSES –BYTHE POSTAL CUSTOMER
RETURN MAILINGS WITH DOMESTIC POSTAGE ONLY
One of the most common errors was the use a reply card insufficiently prepaid at domestic rate in international
mail. Since most senders had no knowledge of postage rates of international countries, this is quite
understandable. Good hints were the fact that the card did not fit the UPU colour scheme, but that again was not
used by all countries in all case, and the missing French language inscription. Still, many such unpaid cards never
were taxed.
