UNNECESSARY FRANKING
Swiss domestic reply card uprated with a so‐called «Kocher stamp» ‐ stamps printed to private order for the
Kocher department store ‐ to cover the international postcard fee of 10 Cents. The French sender erroneously
added a 10 Cents French «La Semeuse» stamp, which was not necessary.
This US reply card was returned from the Soviet Union by registered mail. The upfranking of 30 Kopek covered
both the registration fee and the foreign postcard rate, which was unnecessary.
