The Prime Minister wrote to the Lord Privy Seal at Iris counby estate at Dalkeith Palace, and marked it 'Private ' to
= ensure it was read only by The Duke of Buccleugh. Witlrin tl1e red wax seal is tl1e Peel coat-of-arms with tile family
motto 'Industria'. Witll an official red crowned handstamp in London, and an oblong Dalkeitll receiving handstamp
two days later, on 18 November 1844. ·
