TYPE Vii
There was only one of this type issued, it went to Binningham on 25th September 1857. It differs from all the
others in that it had an unbroken single circular date stamp, and the code, date and year as well as the obliterator
are now upright with the town name round the left of the date stamp.

                                              BIRMINGHAM (original)
As mentioned before many of the sideways duplex hand stamps were recut.

This is an example of the original stamp dated 11th August 1859 and using the code L 7. This being one of the
few towns to use a stamp identification number as well as a code letter.

                                             BIRMINGHAM (1st recut)

You can see that after the recut the letters of the town name have become bigger.

Above is seen an example of this recut dated 13th June 1860 and using the code P7. The frrst recut was issued
on 18th October 1859, with a further recut being issued on 14th August 1862.
