TYPE II
Two different sideways duplexes were issued to this town this Type II and a Type III issued in July 1857. This Type
II was issued on 15th June 1855 there were no recuts. It is seen used between 24th July 1855 and 30th May 1857.
Above you can see two examples of this hand stamp, the first is seen on two 6d embossed and a 2d blue postage
stamp and is on a cut down envelope. It is dated 30th December 1856 and shows the code letter 'C'.
The second example is seen on a Id red stamp and is dated 3 lstJuly 1855 and shows the code letter 'B'.
