This was recut from the original hand stamp then issued on 19th October 1857. It is recorded used between the
5th November 1857 and 27th September 1859. It has a scarcity rating ofD as do all of the London sideways duplexes.

Above you can see two fine examples of this hand stamp. The first is seen on a mourning envelope with a 6d surface
printed stamp paying the postage to Aix les Bains France. It is dated the 26th November 1858 and is showing numeral
code 5. The second example is seen on a 4d surface printed stamp this time posted to Paris France and is dated
the 1st July 1859 and it shows the numeral code 6.
