This was one of five Type II hand stamps issued to this town and it was issued on the 12th May 1855.
This is a relatively common hand stamp with a scarcity rating ofB.

Above you can see two examples of this hand stamp. The first is seen on a mourning envelope posted to a serving
officer in the Crimea Lieutenant Colonel Cork. It shows three ld reds paying the postage there. It is dated the
1 ih August 1855 and has the code letter D. The second example is seen on a Id red imperforated postage stamp
and is dated the 13th September 1855 the code letter is missing or is not showing.
